The Challenge

Designing for children means designing for zero literacy in the interface itself. Every interaction had to be visual, auditory, or haptic. We also had to build trust with parents — the AI needed to feel warm and safe, not clinical.

The Outcome

The reading companion launched to strong consumer reception. The novel interface — where the AI listens and responds in real-time — became Ello's signature experience and a key driver of word-of-mouth growth.
